Don't Overlook the Electrical Work in Your Renovation

Planning a renovation? Don’t overlook the electrical work. At Kay-Bee Electric we provide expert electrical remodeling for homeowners across Florissant, Chesterfield, St. Louis, St. Charles, and beyond. From rewiring outdated systems to adding new lighting, outlets, switches, and smart-home controls, our licensed electricians make sure your project is safe, code-compliant, and built to last.

Common electrical remodeling projects we handle:

We run projects of all sizes, from single-room upgrades to full-home renovations. Our electricians are trained to spot potential issues before they become problems, like an undersized panel that won’t carry the new induction range, or a hidden junction box you weren’t supposed to bury behind the drywall. Learn more about residential code requirements at NFPA.org.

Full-Service Electrical Remodeling, From Rough-In to Final Inspection

Whether you’re upgrading a kitchen, finishing a basement, or reconfiguring a whole floor, the electrical system has to match your new layout and your new power needs. We work closely with general contractors, designers, and homeowners acting as their own GC to deliver seamless electrical work that fits your timeline. Most projects fall into two visits: rough-in before insulation and drywall, and trim-out after paint when the fixtures, switches, and devices go in.

Trust Kay-Bee Electric for reliable, professional electrical remodeling in St. Louis County. Let’s bring power to your renovation safely and efficiently. Your dream space deserves a wiring system that works just as hard as you do. If your panel won’t carry the new layout, a Panel Replacement is the right starting point. If you need Switch & Outlet Relocation for a new wall configuration, we handle that too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a kitchen, basement, or whole-home remodel? Call (314) 837-3308 or book online to schedule a walk-through with your GC, designer, or you-as-the-homeowner. We’ll quote per opening for budget visibility.

As early as the design phase if you can. The electrical layout shapes the framing in ways most homeowners don't expect, like where the recessed cans line up against the ceiling joists, whether the panel has room for the new induction range, or whether the bath fan vents through the same joist bay as the wiring run. On a typical residential remodel we walk the project with you (and your GC if you have one) before any walls open up, then return to rough-in after framing is done and before insulation and drywall go in. Trim-out happens after paint.

Absolutely. We work closely with general contractors, designers, and property owners to deliver seamless electrical solutions that fit your timeline and vision. We can coordinate directly with your GC on rough-in scheduling, drywall inspection, and trim-out, and we keep you copied on every permit and inspection update so nothing happens behind your back. If you're the homeowner acting as your own GC, we run the same process with you instead.

Almost always, yes. Anything that changes the layout of the wiring (adding circuits, moving circuits, adding outlets to a room that didn't have them, panel work) requires a permit through the local AHJ. The permit office varies by city. Florissant has its own permit desk, St. Louis County has one for unincorporated areas, and cities like Webster Groves, Kirkwood, and Clayton each have their own. We pull the permit, schedule the rough inspection so your drywall sub doesn't get stuck waiting, and schedule the final after trim-out.

Whole-home remodels are typically quoted as a multi-visit project with rough-in and trim-out billed separately.
