Industrial Electrical Services

Industrial Electrical Contractor for the St. Louis Manufacturing Corridor

Untitled design 2 1

Kay-Bee Electric has been doing industrial electrical work in St. Louis for more than 75 years. Industrial service installations run differently than commercial work: large power services, three-phase distribution, and clients who cannot tolerate downtime on the production floor. Our master electricians and journeymen know the tolerances that industrial facilities require, and they work on permit under the supervision of our in-house engineering staff.

Common industrial electrical scopes we run across St. Louis County, St. Charles County, and Jefferson County:

Our engineers and designers have scope across every aspect of an industrial facility, from the service entrance to the last branch circuit on the production floor. Learn more about industrial electrical safety at NFPA.org and process energy efficiency at Energy.gov.

Emergency Power, Damage Recovery, and Plant Continuity

Your emergency power requirements can all be installed by Kay-Bee, including emergency lighting, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), generator paralleling, and full back-up power systems. Our engineering staff will work with you to establish your requirements, size the generator and ATS correctly, and make sure your installation keeps the plant up and running through utility outages, voltage sags, and weather events.

For ground-up plant projects with full engineering scope, see our Electrical Design & Build page. For commercial fit-outs and tenant work, see Commercial Services. For dedicated backup power scope, see Backup Power.

Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a service upgrade, an equipment install, or a generator project for your plant? Call (314) 837-3308 or request a site walk-through across the St. Louis manufacturing corridor.

Yes. We can perform the arc-flash hazard analysis (or coordinate with your existing engineering consultant), produce the labels and the boundary calcs, and update them whenever your service entrance or major loads change. Arc-flash labeling is required on every panel, switchgear, MCC, and disconnect under NFPA 70E. We can also coordinate the PPE category requirements with your plant safety lead so your team has the correct gear on the floor.

Yes, on contract. Industrial clients with a signed service agreement get 24/7 after-hours emergency response for production-down events, generator failures, and equipment outages. The response window depends on the agreement tier. For plants where unplanned downtime costs more than scheduled response time, we recommend the higher tier with on-call rotation. Talk to one of our representatives about the options that fit your operation.

Call us. We handle facility damage recovery from fire, flood, lightning strikes, accidents, and equipment failures. We will inspect the affected service entrance, switchgear, and branch wiring, determine what is salvageable versus what needs replacement, coordinate with your insurance adjuster on the scope and the cost, and run the rebuild on permit so your plant comes back online with documented, code-compliant work.
